Heartist's "Nothing You Didn't Deserve" Given 4.5 out of 5 Stars!

Jonathan Heier of MDK did a review of their bands Roadrunner debut, check it out:

The song “The Answer” I say would be the strongest track from the EP that shows the breathe of the vocals and the band’s ability to bring both a melodic sound, recalling hook,  and a deep conveying message that shows that they are to be taken seriously on their road to new heights after signing with Roadrunner Records. The lyrics that Bryce Beckley projects into the microphone with that grasping hand upon your shoulder feel and a subwoofer shaking growl: “I command respect”.  Heartist steps up and has already earned my respect for them. I can say that they will have respect when music fans get their hands on the EP.
Disconnected – The heart thumping drum kicks (double pedal?) will instantly get the attention of the crowd while providing a great line of . The vocals have an ability to bring tension with the pauses in-between lyrical verses.
Rhinestone – The song is filled with the created image that is held by current media trends and the desire to be beautiful. No matter what is presented on the surface, underneath is the truth that can be seen through, which is the greedy nature of people.
Where Did I Go Wrong - Asking a question that can be relatable to any age group and will be a consistent question in life. Being able to track the pinpoint the moments in our lives that the decisions we have made and the results of that can change everything that we are today. The track provides an understanding of the feelings that we all get in our daily lives, the big “what if” moments.
Heart Of Gold – The song is a softer, more dramatic emotional journey between love and the possible truth that lies behind it. Lyrically the picture being painted delves into the views of a couple in a room that possibly have recently separated due to complications.
When looking at the cover art for the EP, with the women’s hands caressing the man’s next with the amulet wrapped around her right hand showing the love that they once had. In her left hand it is dripping a jet black liquid representing the pain and misery that these two people now have. These contrasts both visually and within the lyrics for the song work together well to paint the full picture of the band’s intent of the song with the direction that they want to take with it.
Final score / recommendation – If I was going to score the album I would say it is a 4.5/5 and highly recommend people pick it up and make sure to keep an eye out for Heartist in 2012 leading into 2013.
